In St. Agatha’s News School Social Media Marketing program, candidates will explore how social media is an integral part of a successful Internet marketing campaign. A progressive aim of any social media effort is to add value to the online community experience and to strengthen the brand’s presence within these communities. Evaluating the consumer’s mindset and altering the Internet marketing efforts to match these demands completes this complicated task. Throughout this internship, interns will learn how to incorporate and apply these methodologies into their Internet marketing campaign to create a strong presence in online communities.
Social Media Marketing Purpose:
Combines marketing and social media management skills to architect and enhance company social media presences, including interacting with customers, promoting brand-focused interactive and engaging content, and expanding opportunities for revenue.
Works with social media team members to create innovative social media campaigns.
Social Media Marketing Job Duties:
Creates marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including advertising, product development, and brand management
Provides training and guidance to social media and marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies
Collects customer data and analyses interactions and visits, plus uses this information to create comprehensive reports and improve future marketing strategies and campaigns
Reports progress to senior marketing management
Grows and expands company social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increases presence on existing platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
Researches and monitors activity of company competitors
Creates and distributes engaging written or graphic content in the form of e-newsletters, web page, and blog content, or social media messages

Job Description:
The position of Social Media Strategist can be vital to the health and growth of any company serving the general public. Social Media Strategist are usually responsible for overseeing projects to build a client’s social platforms through the strategic and creative use of social media in a timely manner. The Social Media Strategist recognizes that each client has their own goals and budget and that social media is not a one size fits all platform. Many clients live in a fast paced competitive environment, therefore, meeting deadlines is a must. Passion for social media, an innovative understanding of marketing and forward thinkers are vital to this role. Enthusiasm is essential for long-term success as well.
Essential Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Be on the pulse of latest social media platforms, industry and marketing trends
Review and analyze all social media reporting metrics for all clients
Ongoing communication on social, video and SEO strategies with team
Manage client expectations and escalate any issues
Job Duties, (other duties may be assigned):
Conduct, gather and analyze market research to determine social media opportunities
Research client competitors and industry trends
Coordinate with internal experts on content
Ongoing communication with internal teams on priorities, opportunities and client feedback
Responsible for presenting analytics and strategic plans to Project Management team
Daily and weekly communication with clients regarding strategy, marketing needs and promotional/event planning
Present status of campaigns with analysis and reporting findings
Maintain knowledge of email best practices and take lead on sending and reporting on email blasts
